For Christmas 2002 we were trying to think what we could get for Mom that she would really like. The house was crowded, and anything she wanted she would get herself.
Andy suggested a "memory box": each of us would write memories on index cards, and put them in a small file for her to peruse. She loved them. Now all of them are available here. Feel free to submit new ones to me, I would be pleased to add to it.
Memory from Andy: I remember... The look on Mom's face the day I came in from the street where we had been throwing rocks, and Russell had inadvertantly opened up an impressive cut over my right eye with a large, misplaced stone. I went running up the backyard, when to the back porch door (screaming), and remember the precise moment when we saw one another's faces. Mine probably didn't look so good, although I didn't know for sure since I couldn't see it. Your face, I recall quite vividly, looked "stricken".
