For Christmas 2002 we were trying to think what we could get for Mom that she would really like. The house was crowded, and anything she wanted she would get herself.
Andy suggested a "memory box": each of us would write memories on index cards, and put them in a small file for her to peruse. She loved them. Now all of them are available here. Feel free to submit new ones to me, I would be pleased to add to it.
Memory from Carol: I remember that any time Daddy's family got together, I spent most of the day hearing about "how much I looked like Jean."
I remember the trip you and I took to Florida to visit Aunt Hazel after I graduated from college. We arrived at her home, sat down to visit, and she looked at me across the table and said, "It's amazing - she looks just like Jean." Then she turned to you and went on, without missing a beat, " - and you know, Jean was never anything to look at."
